Director Elaine Wagner announces Auditions for
The Belfry Theatre's production of
Guys and Dolls
story by Damon Runyon, music and lyrics by Frank Loesser,
book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows
An all time favorite musical fable of Broadway with larger-than-life characters in search of a spot to hold the
“oldest established permanent floating crap game in New York”. Mix high rollers like Nicely-Nicely, Sky Masterson
and Nathan Detroit with Adelaide, the Hot Box girls, Sister Sarah and the Save-A-Soul missioners and you have a
sure bet for fun. Includes great tunes like “Luck Be a Lady”, “Take Back Your Mink”, “I’ve Never Been in Love
Before” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat”.
Audition Dates
Sunday March 14 and Tuesday, March 16 at 7:00
at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church
Emmanuel, 16000 Cumberland Rd, Noblesville, is located at the intersection of Greenfield Ave and Cumberland
road. This is on Greenfield Avenue about ¼ mile east of State Road 37 or one mile west of the Belfry theatre.
Enter door #4 at the rear of the church.
Performance dates
June 4, 5, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20
Additional performances may be added during this time period.
Rehearsal Schedule
Music and dance rehearsals will start in late March. The rehearsal schedule will be discussed at the auditions.
The cast includes
• (12) Male singing and non-singing roles, ages 16 – 90,
• (5) Female roles ages 18 – 65
• Male singer-dancers “crap shooters”
• Hot Box girls
• “Save A Soul” mission members ( instrumentalists welcome to bring your horn)
Be prepared to sing (32) bars of a song. Accompanist will be provided or you may use a CD for accompaniment
(no a cappella). Be dressed for dance and movement. Readings will be from the script.
